Mylingual - a Community-based Webapp Localization Service
On March 29th, Cybozu Labs launched its new web service, Mylingual.
http://mylingual.net/
Mylingual is a community-based localization service for web-based application user interfaces, consisting of a Wikipedia-like translation archive and a web-browser plugin that dynamically translates webpages displayed. In Japan, where Mylingual was prelaunched under the name Japanize, more than 25,000 users are already using the service, accessing webapps like Google, YouTube, del.icio.us, and Bloglines in Japanese.
"Non-English native speakers no more have to wait for companies like Google translating their cutting-edge web-based applications from English. The user community can start translating and share the benefits of localization. The successful prelaunch in Japan has shown that the community-based approach of Mylingual actually works, and we are excited to share the benefits with people arround the world."
"Mylingual is a great benefit for small venture companies building new web services. Developers need not worry about internationalization anymore, and can concentrate on innovation. Instead, their users would localize the webapps themselves, by using Mylingual."
